D.I.Y. Pop

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

Well, if you fire up the radio
And nothing is on
You hear a semblance of music
But the feeling is gone
Oh no

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

Awards are given to the safe bets
See, their figures are great
But when you listen to the audio
You just can’t relate

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

It isn’t getting any better
What are you gonna do?
Perhaps you ought to learn a chord or two
Maybe learn to sing
It's not important, though
All that really matters is you go go go go go

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

And if your instrument is nothing like the sound in your head
Just embrace your limitations
Make a brand new sound instead

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

And don't let anybody tell you
"This is not how it's done"
'Cause what's the point in making music
If it isn't any fun?

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop

You can keep it in your garage or your bedroom
Maybe share it with a friend or two
Put it on a record, even play a show
All that really matters is you go go go go go

D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop, yeah
D.I.Y. pop, yeah
