Privacy and cookies

The Photocopies is a band website. It has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no shop, and it collects as little as it can. Last updated October 30, 2026.

Who is responsible

The Photocopies (Sean Turner) runs this site. Questions or requests about your data: thephotocopies@gmail.com.

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, and sends Google the page you viewed, roughly where you are (worked out from your internet address, which Google Analytics does not keep), and your browser and device type.

If you are in the UK, the EU, the European Economic Area or Switzerland (or the site cannot tell where you are), analytics only starts after you choose Accept. Elsewhere it runs unless you choose Decline. Your choice is remembered in this browser (in local storage, not a cookie), and you can change it at any time:

Videos and other outside services

Song pages and the homepage embed YouTube videos (through YouTube's privacy-enhanced address, youtube-nocookie.com). When a video loads, YouTube (Google) receives your internet address and browser details, as with any embedded content, and may collect more if you play it. Links to Bandcamp, Spotify, Odesli and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes visitors' internet addresses to serve pages and keep the site secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, withdraw consent (use the button above) or object to its use. Email the address above. If you are in the UK or the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
