(Wishing I Had) Tickets for Saint Etienne

Ooh

I wish that you would notice me
Or take a second look
I like to think we're not so different
Now I've seen you with that book

And I'm hearing through the grapevine
That you'll be out Saturday
At the club where all the cool kids hang
Where all the good bands play

There's a group I heard you like
That's coming to town, oh
Maybe you'd give me that look
If you saw me around
So oh oh

Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause I know that you'll be going to the show
Oh oh oh
Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause wherever you might be
Yeah, I wanna go
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

If I could only make you see
That I'm more than meets the eye
Maybe you'd be here right next to me
The least I can do is try

Now I'm cramming Cracknell Stanley Wiggs
And I'm reading Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
While I scrape together pennies
Just enough to make it there

Can I find that cash by the weekend?
It's stressing me so much, oh
Are you going with somebody
How will I know?
Oh oh oh

Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause I know that you'll be going to the show
Oh oh oh
Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause wherever you might be
Yeah, I wanna go
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

Now it's Saturday
I've just enough to pay here on the door
But they tell me it's sold out
And here comes...
The one I adore
(sigh)

Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause I know that you'll be going to the show
Oh oh oh
Now I'm wishing I had tickets for Saint Etienne
'Cause wherever you might be
Yeah, I wanna go
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
