Lightning Strikes

I get myself back off the hook
And then I tell myself to bring it to an end
I free myself, I’ll start all over
Then lightning strikes
I’m upside down again

No matter what or why or who or when
I never last too long without a friend
Every time I start all over
Then lightning strikes
I'm upside down
Then lightning strikes
I'm upside down again

The feelings I've no clue how to defend
They get the better of me 'til I descend
Into a place that saps my strength
Then lightning strikes
I'm upside down again

I don't know why I bother to pretend
I only give myself 'til the weekend
You know the story
I go out and then lightning strikes
I'm upside down
Then lightning strikes
I'm upside down again

Ricocheting, a human pinball
From one extreme to nothing at all
'Til I get the electrostatic call
There I go again

Oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh
Oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh
Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooh

Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down
Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down
Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down again

Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down
Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down
Yeah, lightning strikes, I'm upside down again
Upside down again
