I Can't Imagine What You See In Him

You and I
We were two of a kind
Or so I thought
Well, maybe I was blind
Because it didn't last
Just a fleeting affair
Now when you're walking down the street arm in arm
I wonder who's in there
Did I know you at all?
Oh

I can't imagine what you see in him
What does he have that I couldn't give you?
It's like you sought out my antonym
I can't bear to even think of him with you
Oh, was it something I should have done?
Is he the boy you wanted me to be?
Look again at what you could've won
‘Cause I'm not him and he's certainly not me

What was I?
What was I really to you?
A temporary thing?
Perhaps a rebound doomed from the start
I was oblivious
Forever beckoned, it seemed
But now I've seen you look into his eyes
Like you're living your dream
What does all of this mean?

I can't imagine what you see in him
What does he have that I couldn't give you?
It's like you sought out my antonym
I can't bear to even think of him with you
Oh, was it something I should have done?
Is he the boy you wanted me to be?
Look again at what you could've won
‘Cause I'm not him and he's certainly not me

'Cause I'm not him and he's certainly not me
No, I'm not him and he's certainly not me
Oh, when you look at him I can't imagine what you see
No, I'm not him, but he's where I wanted to be
