Holiday Romance

Lyrics

Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh

I never wanted to go
Would've been happy at home
Or so I thought 'til the second day
Oh oh oh
Saw you, your family in tow
I heard you telling them "no"
Didn't want to be on holiday

I could feel a connection starting there
Both of us stuck in the middle of nowhere
So I wanted to know what else we could share
And then before we even knew

It was a holiday romance
The kind they tell you is doomed
It'll never last
Just a holiday romance
For a limited time, saw the days go fast
It was a holiday romance
And we knew in the back of our minds it would end
What would we do with this chance?
The clock ticking
Knew I might never hold you again

Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh

Down to the beach they would go
We'd different plans of our own
Escape into our own wonderland
Oh oh oh
We hadn't time to go far
People would think us bizarre
We didn't care if they'd understand

And a real connection started there
Born of circumstance, we were well aware
Something we couldn't keep 'cause life isn't fair
Really all we could do was make memories

Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh

So now we're both back home, many miles apart
And I wish you were here
It shouldn't have been the end
It felt like only the start
Now it's all so clear

Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah oh
Ah ah ah ah oh ah ah ah oh oh
Ah ah ah ah ah oh
Oh if I could only hold you here again
