Bye Bye Boyfriend

He stepped in front of a car
Cut down in a hit-and-run
So I heard, can you believe it?

He was a shining star, yet he left so much undone
I wonder if you'll leave

Your boyfriend in an ambulance
Such a tragedy
Wonder how you're gonna take it
Your boyfriend in the Accident & Emergency
Do you think he's gonna make it?

There must've been quite a thud
I'll be a shoulder to cry on
Do you need a gin and tonic?

He lost a lot of blood
I know 'cause I had to wipe it off
It was all over my bonnet

Your boyfriend in an ambulance
Such a tragedy
Wonder how you're gonna take it
Your boyfriend in the Accident & Emergency
Do you think he's gonna make it?

Yeah, I'm sure I don't know how it happened
Maybe you need someone to hold you tight
'Cause your boyfriend - I don't think he's coming home

He's not coming home tonight
Ooh, bye bye boyfriend
He's not coming home tonight
